« | Psalm 29 | » |
1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty; give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth; the LORD is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf, Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and layeth bare the forests, and in His temple doth every one speak of His glory.
10 The LORD sitteth over the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth as King for ever.
11 The LORD will give strength unto His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace.
About: The 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
The 21st Century King James Version (KJ21) is an updated version of the King James Version Bible published in 1994 that remains aligned to the Textus Receptus, and does not exclude biblical passages based on Alexandrian Greek manuscripts. Unlike the New King James Version, it does not change the language significantly from the 1611 King James Version, keeping Jacobean grammar (including thee and thou), but it tries to substitute some of the vocabulary that may not be understood by the modern reader.
The alterations in words are based on the second edition of the Webster New International Dictionary. There were no changes related to gender or theology. Recently, it has the capitalization of pronouns much like New King James Version, addressing Deity while keeping the archaic pronouns.
The reader should notice almost no difference from reading the King James Version except that certain archaic words have been replaced with words that are more understandable in modern English.
